چکیده
Background: Adjuvant chemoradiotherapy is the standard treatment for gastric carcinoma, but optimal radiation modality remains uncertain. This study aimed to compare intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and three-dimensional conformal (3D-CRT) in terms of dosimetry adjuvant cancer treatment. Methods: 21 patients with stage IIB-IIIC cancer, treated between January June 2021, underwent surgery followed by chemoradiation both IMRT 3D-CRT plans. Dosimetric parameters were calculated planned target volume (PTV) organs at risk (OAR). Results: Both provided comparable PTV coverage. However, significantly improved kidney sparing, reducing mean V20 value 23% (p=0.01) right 26% (p=0.02) left compared 3D-CRT. also decreased irradiated kidneys liver, as well V30 although these differences not statistically significant. The dosimetric spinal cord Conclusions: demonstrated better sparing while coverage was similar. Long-term follow-up necessary assess clinical outcomes local recurrence rates

Dosimetric comparison between intensity modulated radiotherapy and three dimensional conformal radiotherapy planning in patients with locally advanced cervical carcinoma
Background: External beam radiotherapy (EBRT) is mainstay of treatment in patients with locally advanced cervical carcinoma (LACC). Three dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) and intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) are mainly used in EBRT. However which one is superior is still controversial. Materials and Methods: Forty patients of LACC treated with IMRT were selected for this study....

Background: To analyze the dosimetric and radio biologic advantages between intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and 3 dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) and selection of optimal photon energy for IMRT treatments. Material and methods: 24 patients with localized prostate carcinoma were planned for 3DCRT and IMRT techniques. Radiation dose of 54 Gy with 2 Gy/fraction, was planned to ...

متن کاملComparison of Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy and Three-Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy in Postoperative High-Grade Glioma: A Dosimetric Comparison
Introduction: We aimed to dosimetrically compare three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) in terms of planning target volume (PTV) coverage, organ at risk (OAR) sparing, and conformity index (CI). Material and Methods: Planning data of 26 high grade glioma (HGG) patients were used. Prescrib...
